Scholastic Book Club
Each month or so, I will send home a packet of Scholastic Book Club order forms. I include a date the order is due, typically towards the end of the month, and the code that can be used to order online. Our classroom code is N99ZZ. This code can be used on Scholastic Book Club's website, found here. Once there, you can order books, pay online with a credit or debit card, and the books will be sent to the classroom with the rest of the order. Online you can search through all of the available books, spanning all of the grade and reading levels.
Projects
Occasionally, we will be working on a project in the classroom that may require some home support for. Currently, we are working on an animal research project. Your child has selected an animal and checked out a book from the school library to support their research. You can help your child by asking them about their project and helping them with additional research at home. You can help them to search online or pick up books at the local public library.
Be on the lookout for occasional letters home, in your child's homework folder, with more information for the project we are currently working on.
Below are a list of websites that we will be using in class to create our projects.

Support the Classroom and School
Many teachers have used donation websites to fund all sorts of projects, activities, and equipment. I have had projects funded on DonorsChoose for supplies to implement reading programs, materials for math instruction, and other supplies for use in the classroom. Items such as headphones, a wireless keyboard, and CD player were a few of the things that we were able to get as a part of these amazing websites. Please visit the site and consider donating to a project, whether at our school or another.
